Located in a quiet street in the hip and happening area of Canggu, just 5 minute drive or ride from the world-famous Echo Beach, this villa embodies the tranquillity of Bali while still being close enough to a range of exciting attractions.

Living Areas

Both indoors and outdoors this lovely villa offers stylish tropical comfort. A large veranda runs the length of the house fronted by an inviting swimming pool and topped off by magnificent undulating rice paddies and jungle.

This is the perfect place to chill out with your family and friends and soak up the naturally restorative atmosphere of the island. Furthermore, the overhanging roof of the house is hung with ceiling fans providing a cool, comfortable place to sit in one of the many loungers. In one corner is a traditional bale, a great place to snuggle up with the latest bestseller or have a massage.

This attractive villa is spread over two floors joined by a stylish wood and iron spiral staircase. The flavour of Villa Subak is essentially a New York warehouse that meets tropical chic realised through exposed red brickwork, rattan accessories and distressed wooden furniture.

The downstairs is filled with an air-conditioned, open-plan living area including a fashionable granite and wood kitchen. This is equipped with Delonghi accessories including a coffee maker and a juicer and has a large breakfast bar with trendy cane-backed seats. Additionally, there is an oversized wooden dining table with benches where you can enjoy more formal meals. Floor-to-ceiling folding doors run the length of the open-plan living area and embrace panoramic views over the beautiful rambling wilderness and the glittering swimming pool. Moreover, a comfortable sofa faces a flat-screen TV, with plenty of room for the whole family to curl up and watch a movie before another fun-packed day touring Bali. This is truly an island home from home.

Accommodation

The bedrooms in Villa Subak are all located on the first floor and each one is petite, perfectly formed and air-conditioned. Additionally, they all have views over the striking location of the villa across the rice paddies and virgin jungle.

The master suite comprises a king-size bed, a fitted wardrobe and a private ensuite bathroom with a shower. The further two bedrooms are identical in size and have queen canopy beds and fitted wardrobes that are decorated with subtle tropical touches. These two rooms have access to a family bathroom with a single vanity unit and a shower. A cot can be requested from our Villa Manager if required.

Location

Impeccably situated, this villa is right on the rural border between the peace of Pererenan, and the bohemian surfing beaches of Canggu. Nearby, within walking distance, are several great warungs serving cheap, delicious local food and Bali Bunda which has a whole food shop as well as a café offering organic fayre, fresh juices and western dishes.

A short drive away are some of the hotspots on the island including Finns Beach Club, Old Mans, Deus and Echo Beach. Investigate boutique-style shops, find bargains in market stalls, stop for coffee in little independent cafés, find your life force in a yoga class at Samadi, catch a few waves or watch the sunset from the gypsy caravans of La Laguna.

Alternatively, embrace some local culture and drive to the famous Tanah Lot water temple. This has been a site of Hindu pilgrimage for thousands of years and visitors can partake in a traditional Balinese blessing.

Further afield, around 30 minutes by car in the other direction is the trendy district of Seminyak which has a cosmopolitan vibe and some fantastic fine dining options such as Metis, Sarong and Mama San. Day trips to Ubud white water rafting or temple spotting as well as trips to the beach at Nusa Dua or Uluwatu can also be facilitated from here.
